| Personal protection dogs are grossly misunderstood often seen as vicious and uncontrollable. This couldn't be further from the truth. All the protection dogs that we train are well socialized, very obedient and are sound canine citizens. Trained protection dogs are taught to bite only on command. What is the point of having a protection dog if you cannot go out in public with him? Also another misconception is that a protection dog cannot be a family dog, this is also untrue. All the dogs we train can interact safely with family, people and other dogs. Ideally personal protection is started at an early age, but it is not uncommon for mature dogs to start protection training. Lots of owner's choose personal protection training purely as an activity they can do with their dog. There are many competitions held just for this purpose. These are really fun activities you and your dog can do together. We also understand that not everyone has the same requirements so we will work with you and tailor a program specifically for your needs. Some training facilities advertise canine protection training with disastrous results, giving little thought as to whether the dog is suited to this kind of activity. Personal protection is complex and should only be taught by an experienced trainer. We are methodical in our training methods and will only advance the dog as we see fit. |
